I love cupcakes!

Cupcakes are my favourite so when I saw a picture of these bunny cupcakes on a cupcake website (see sidebar) I wanted to try them. I showed R the picture and she definitely wanted to make them! So we spent another afternoon baking while it poured rain outside. R is excited to take these to preschool tomorrow.

Bird's Nest Cookies

R and I baked some festive bird's nest cookies. We adapted a recipe we saw on foodgawker. The nest part is coconut crisps and then the eggs are mini-eggs. The only problem now is trying not to eat them!

R & B

They really do love each other.
Even though R shrieks every time B gets near one of her toys.
Despite the fact that B has now learned how to deliberately pull R's hair.
Regardless of the fact that the jogging stroller is simply not used for jogging - it is used for stopping continuously the whole way to the park to referee the shrieks and the hair-pulling!
Notwithstanding it all, they really do love each other.
Tonight when I was reading B his bedtime story R came in and said, "I had a good day with you today, brother" and gave him a kiss.
And she was right, today there was no shrieking and no hair-pulling just a day of blissful peace!

An afternoon of masterpieces!

It has been super nice out lately so we have been spending lots of time outside. R suddenly remembered that (pretty much all winter) I have been promising that "we will bring out the painting easel when the weather is good". So her and I spent the afternoon painting outside while B napped. It was great to enjoy some special time with her and it was so cute how intense she was while painting. She loves it!

Happy Little Bunnies

Every spring it is a family tradition to put furry pastel rabbit ears on our kids and try to capture the adorable little bunnies on film. This year we added the tails to up the cute factor a bit...They played in the backyard wearing their rabbit ears and their bunny tails for almost an hour!

Busy B

Our busy little B is constantly on the go. He climbs everything, rearranges furniture, pulls out the floor vents, tries to stuff toys into the vacuum sockets, knows how to turn on the TV, and especially loves playing outside! He plays hard and he sleeps hard!

I AM CANADIAN!

The olympics definitely served to raise national pride...even with my three year old. Of course she loves tattoos and she identifies the maple leaf with Canada. She also knows that Canadians play hockey and she already has a great love of the Zamboni. However, I didn't realize how deep her national pride was until our Team Canada flag blew off our car today on the highway and she sobbed with disappointment like her little Canadian heart was completely broken. It was so cute that I indulged her and we drove straight to the dollar store for two more flags. As for B, well he just knows that hockey sticks are fun to whack things with!
